The Florida Department of Environmental Protection will no longer offer free informal wetland determinations through the Collier County Environmental Services Department after September 30th. After September 30th, an informal wetland determination will cost $300 for up to 2.73 acres. If you wish to schedule a free FDEP inspection, please note TEC now offers a new service assisting those requesting FDEP free inspections through the end of this month.

Prior to inspection of residential lots by FDEP staff biologists, the landowner must provide a clearing through dense vegetation to ensure proper access into the lot.

TEC provides FDEP (state) approved informal wetland determinations used in the release of county building permits. These determinations will be competitively priced with the new FDEP fees and will provide more information with a faster turn-around period then can be provided though the county.
